HONEY-moon @ SG (Day 2: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, China Town, Little India, Orchard Road and Singapore Flyer)

Our first day was hectic and blissful while our 2nd day was more of a walking trip. We planned to roam around the city again. Madami pang dapat makita sa Singapore! We passed by at Bugis Junction and Tiangge to buy some souvenirs, O db 2nd palang namin souvenirs na agad.. Haha..

Happy Couple ♥

Ano yan binibili mo hon? :p

But officially, our first destination is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum located along South Bridge Road which is easily accessible. This is one of the most popular temples in Singapore; you can visit here by taking Bus or MRT and get down at Chinatown Station. The temple is FREE Admission but visitors can give donations for maintenance and used also to run the temple. It is open every day from Monday to Sunday from 7am – 7pm.

Front Side

There are two life-sized gate guardians standing in front of the mountain gate which serves to protect the temple, Dvarapala (Sanskrit) and Garbhavira.

At the Entrance
Since wearing shorts, miniskirts, bare backs, off-shoulders are strictly prohibited inside the temple, I instruct Ian to enter the shrine and take pictures while I will wait for him outside. After few minutes, he came back and told me that I can enter the temple but I need to put shawls which are available for public use before entry. And because I really want to see what’s inside (curiosity), I put shawls on top and below to cover my arms and legs.

After almost 45 minutes in South Bridge Road we decided to go on our next destination, China Town! China Town is like Divisoria / Tutuban in the Philippines, ang daming mura!!! This is where you can buy souvenirs at cheaper price, for example 24 pcs of keychain for only SGD 10.00, not bad. So many souvenir shops abound with lots of bargain items, unfortunately, we didn’t bought anything. Haha. The shops here were endless, bargain sales are in every corner of Chinatown! Ang sarap mamili kung marami kang pera! We just roamed around the area and opted to take our late lunch.

Hubby :)

We noticed how they were able to maintain the old homes just like in Vigan, ang galing! Especially, they included small business establishments selling different kinds of souvenirs and of course food! China Town in Singapore is so clean; you can’t see anything like candy wrapper, tissue, etc. scattered on the street. Wow! I think this is one of the most cleanliness looking China Town in the world!

After our scrumptious lunch, we chose to visit Little India since it is included in our list. We ride MRT and get off at Little India Station, My God! Nasayang lang pera namin! Wala naman tourist attraction in this place and scary pa! We didn’t go around the area; we just took pictures near MRT station. Katakot kasi! Haha.

Then, we opted to go back in main city and pay a visit to Orchard road. According to some reviews, you have never really been to Singapore if you have not visited the Orchard Road. Wow! Hindi nga?!
Weehhhh?! Anyway, Orchard Road is the center of retails, entertainment, fashion and of course Shopping!!! Shopping para sa mga may pera, pero para sa amin tamang picture picture lang.. :p

Welcome to Orchard!

Louis Vuitton, hanggang picture ka nalang ba? :p

There are more than 50 shopping malls in 2.2km long-street of the Orchard Road. It contains numerous coffee chains, café, hotels, night club and restaurants. The shopping bliss provides a famous branded bags and clothes such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Zara, Prada and other. Wow!

Orchard Road has lots of trees and birds which cause the tourist to walk cool and shaded on the large roadway for pedestrians. They also provide benches along the way in case you felt tired from walking. There are also street vendors who sell items on a discount basis; well they are neat and orderly.

So if you plan to visit Orchard Road, save your money now! For sure ubos lahat ng budget nyo pag pumunta kayo dito! Hehe.

Our next stop, Singapore Flyer! Wow! Sabi ko nga “Eto yung malaking ferry’s wheel sa Singapore! Parang MOA’s Eye! Hehe. “.

Singapore Flyer is the only place that offers a bird’s eye view of the entire city. This is a breathtaking experience that you will never forget, a panoramic view on the world’s largest observation wheel.  Getting here is very easy and convenient. You can do MRT, tabi, private car or public bus. But since we love walkathon, we chose MRT instead of riding a taxi.

From the Promenade Station it is more or less five-minute walk to Singapore Flyer! Take Exit A and look out for blue pedestrian signs to Singapore Flyer. Makikita mo na talaga sya pag baba mo palang ng MRT! Ang laki kaya nya! Hehe. We arrive at the Flyer just before 6:00pm and opted to take pictures.
We bought the standard ticket cost SGD 29.50/each, which entitles us ice cream for only $1.00! Yehey!

Our Tickets :)

$ 1.00/ each scoop

Before we reach the Singapore Flyer Capsule, we step first in their latest attraction; Journey of Dreams. Here you will experience a deeper appreciation and better understanding of Singapore and Singapore Flyer. There are seven exciting galleries inside namely, The Prelude, The Dreamscape, The Discovery, Fragment of Dreams, Dream Journal, Dream Reflections and Reservoir of Dreams.

And finally, welcome on board to Singapore Flyer! Wow! It’s like the 360 degree restaurant in MacauTower.  Ian steps off in the large capsule then I step in and look around our themed capsule. Amazing! At first, I was so scared, malay ko ba kung biglang mabasag yung glass db.. Haha. The music starts playing and the door closed and all of a sudden, we’re on our way around! Yehey!

The flyer continues rotating and we get a bird’s eye view of the entire city as we’ve reached the top (165 meters from the ground).  We also got a panoramic treat of the city where you can see the Marina Bay, it’s like a dream come true, it’s like taking a flight while you enjoy a moving experience at every turn, the wheel slowly rotates giving us beautiful 360 degree view of Singapore. Anyway, the full round takes more or less thirty minutes. Grabe! bitin sobra!

Below are some nice views taken when the carriage was at the highest point of the flyer! (Photos taken by Hubby)

The two of us take plenty of photos and then decide to sit down and relax as the Flyer takes us back down to earth.. Earth talaga?! Haha.

Here are some shots taken by my husband after our ride in Singapore Flyer! Nakuha namin umupo sa parang Manila Bay, kwentuhan and picture picture! Nice one hubby.. Thanks sa tripod! :p

Wow Singapore! @ Night!

Riding in the flyer is definitely one of the best views / attractions in Singapore!
